Ukraine Emergency Fund

Providing humanitarian aid to displaced Ukrainians

On June 6th, a devastating attack on the Kakhovka Dam unleashed widespread destruction in the Kherson region, South Ukraine. The consequences have been catastrophic, with an area twice the size of Dublin City completely submerged under 3 meters of water.

Our partners, Stay Safe UA, wasted no time and arrived on the scene on June 7th. They have been tirelessly working around the clock, rescuing both civilians and animals, ensuring their safety amidst this dire situation. At SCOOP, we launched an emergency fundraiser to support our partners and provide aid to all those affected on the ground.

The conflict in Ukraine, which escalated over a year ago, has left millions of people without access to basic necessities such as electricity, warmth, food and water. The destruction of countless homes, schools, hospitals, and other vital infrastructure has resulted in the internal displacement of an estimated 5.95 million people.

Since the war started, SCOOP have been working with partners Stay Safe UA, Greyhound Recycling, Mariupol Women’s Association, Airlink, Folkowisko and Alliance 4 Children to provide humanitarian aid to Ukrainians. From generators, fuel, to medicine and essential supplies for mothers and babies, SCOOP and partners have completed five missions since Ukraine was invaded in February, 2022. In all five missions, SCOOP’s Services Director, Calvin Sweeney, has travelled to Ukraine to support the dissemination of emergency aid on the front line.
