Psychosocial Programme- Syria / Iraq

The SCOOP Psychosocial Programme was formed in partnership with Joint Help For Kurdistan in 2017 to offer support for women and children survivors of Islamic State captivity. Users of this programme were kidnapped and sold into IS slavery in August 2014 where some had remained for up to 6 years.

The programme assists survivors in readjusting to normal society and the Yazidi community.

Through financial support, social outings, facilitating family visits, assisting with medical support and advocating for their rights, the programme has assisted dozens of women and children reintegrate into the community and will continue to do so as more victims of IS brutality are liberated from Syria.
